SKILLED NURSING

When loved ones are no longer able to care for themselves and require 24-hour supervised care, it is often difficult for families to know where to turn. Images of the "typical nursing home" can be unsettling, but one visit to the warm, homelike environment of the Cedars' skilled nursing units will set your mind at ease. The focus at the Cedars is on living the best possible life, and everything we do enhances that focus.

Here, residents live in friendly, neighborhood settings where they can enjoy the company of others or rest and solitude in their own private space. Each neighborhood contains intimate living rooms, a great room with a fireplace and comfortable couches and chairs, and a full-service, restaurant-style dining room. All of these settings encourage interaction with family members, friends, and other residents.

People come here to live, and their rooms are in many ways like small apartments. Every room has a couch, a private bathroom and shower, and a separately controlled thermostat. The Cedars encourages residents to bring special touches from home and decorate to reflect their own individual personalities.

The Cedars' primary goal is to provide the best possible medical care through a team approach. The team consists of physicians, physicians' assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, therapists, social workers, and medical-care managers who work together to customize all aspects of patient care. On-site physician services are available in all major health disciplines, including internal medicine, ophthalmology, and psychology. Physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapies are all available seven days a week.

• Restaurant style kosher and non-kosher dining with gourmet menu selections prepared by our executive chef
